Ay Mi Corazon!

I just wanted to announce that I have

closed FloresOriginals.com.

I didn't want to do it, but sadly I was losing money.

I felt like I was really taking off for a while there and things were going great. But now, because of hard times, no one wants to buy art. Or maybe just my art! Either way it's not good! Well, I am going to put my concentration toward "finishing" a degree once started and go from there. I will still paint for fun and shows and have items available on etsy! I will still keep up my blog. Don't know what I will write about but I ramble all the time anyway, so .....
I need to down size from an art room to an art "space" if you will. So what will I make of an extra room? Hmmm so many options...

Oh yeah, I still have to take down all of my website advertisements....

Awwwwwwwww, man! That's just not right that you had to shut down your website, but, I understand! I do hope you keep up with your Etsy shop and your blog - DON'T give up, things WILL turn around! Good luck with finishing up that degree too. I'll expect to read about it, and your art right here on Mi ViDa LoCa!

Carolyn believe me it is not your work, your work is incredible. It is the economy and for us in Canada our dollar is so low we can't afford the exchange rate.

Hey there Carolyn,

Don't worry! Maybe if you get a free website? There are so many free websites, or you can use your blog as a main website. I know what you mean about times being tough and its hard to sell things. I havent done a show in a while, but hoping the spring and summer resurrects shows in my area (Connecticut). But even if we dont even make a cent (which is always nice) but even if we dont, we still love art and love painting. So keep doing what you love and we will keep reading all about :) Take care!!!

Hi Carolyn, thx for stopping by my blog. I never know when you post because it does not show up in my blog. What do you mean "my art". Your art is outstanding. Continue to do what you love. You can never quit. Getting a degree is good, I just got my AA/English and it feels great. It took me a long time because of other duties, but it was fun. Carolyn, do not quit your art and look for free websites, there are a lot. Take care.

I am so sorry you had to close down your website Carolyn. But I totally understand. And I agree, it is in no way your work that is affecting the sales. Unfortunately in these times, our sales are directly affected by the ever spiraling economy. I'm just hoping that it won't affect our bigger shows too much. I'm really apprehensive about San Antonio because I know people are reluctant to spend money right now. And more so on items that not necessities, you know? So I guess we just ride this thing out. If I don't do well in Santa Fe, I'll be looking for a job outside the home. Ickickick!!!!!! I dread the thought...but we're all feeling it. I'm with you. Keep your head up and go for that degree!

Bonjour Carolyn! So sorry to read you are closing your website! But I used to have a website too but finally came to the conclusion that my Etsy-eBay-blog trio worked better than my website. Everyone is right about two things: First, keep on arting and show us what you are up to, second it has nothing to do with YOUR art, I think every artist is seeing a change in sales since the beginning of 2009. HAPPY WEEKEND! LuLu
